Bought this awhile ago and finally delivered here to the USA...took awhile to receive but it is worth it....I always buy Pioneer products like the orange coveralls and what not but i needed a jacket for the winter snow and freezing temperature we are having....
First thing is that anytime i buy products online it is always like a gamble mentality trying to figure out...."well it could be this way or it could be that way....do i buy L or M or XL....i want my jacket to be loose fitting enough to shift the gears and throw chains and blah blah blah..."
every time i purchase online i am always constantly debating and measuring my body and on and on and on and on.....back and forth back and forth....
I had purchased my coveralls from a safety store in Winnipeg, Manitoba and the customer service on the phone with the guy was just like ....eh....i could sense his energy on the phone and i was getting pissed and so on....called several times because it is important to be 100% certain before ordering online.....first delivery was okay product was good...second delivery he sent me a size bigger like a 44T rather than my 42T which i ordered....didnt bother calling me to ask and say he was out of 42T just sent 44T without a phone call to me...that kind of pissed me off customer relation wise but the 44T was fine....just the principle.
i was looking for the jackets now and had gone to a safety store up in BC somewhere...and i had gone through the whole charade of figuring it out and when i went to order they wouldn't ship to me here in Idaho, USA.....called them and some smart ass gave the usual apologize and blah blah pissed me off more...i said forget them....
then i came across this Safety Supplies Canada......since the start i telephoned them talked to a gal i believe was named Sherry....was such a feel good...so nice and loving and took her time helping me and answering my questions.....i loved her....she spent about 45 mins Alberta Time zone past their closing hours and helped me...where most people's attitude would be all impatient and in a hurry to get off the phone with me to go have their cigarette and get off the clock and all that BS...just a real feel good.....plus they delivered to me in the USA! BAM!! solid!
I had gone back and forth with this jacket and that jacket.....needs to be a heavy enough jacket because i am not going to be cold when outside in freezing temperatures throwing chains or chutes on the concrete mixer....
she said that a more expensive...which was no problem for me...was a real heavy jacket but i just didnt like the look of it....a little goofy where the pockets were...
we went back and forth about this open road viking product....now i have always loved pioneer so i was looking for a pioneer jacket but those didn't really blow my skirt up...
this viking one had a good look to it and was in the black color because i want something besides orange and neon safety green all the time like my coveralls...
went a head and bought this one and ordered the large size because i told sherry i always buy the coveralls in 42T and they are a good fit...6'1 155LBS is what i am...she said that since my coveralls were in the "large size" category to go with the Large for the viking jacket....
Very pleased; fits spot on with enough looseness in the sleeves to shift and move freely with out being all cramped...and the REAL kicker is that this jacket is like a lightweight jacket but KEEPS ME WARM! I dont know if the insulation technology that they use this Theramaxx concept or what ever....super light weight on the body but i'll be damned if it doesn't keep me super warm....my carhartt is a super heavy jacket...like wearing a ship anchor around my torso and arms....this is light, vibrant, rustic, and WARM jacket.........unbelievable but i am so pleased with this Viking product and with Safety Supplies Canada CO.
I will always give them my business now.
