In view of the life safety nature of this product, we recommend release of the link by heat gun followed by replacement.NFPA 80 CHAPTER 19 Testing of Fire/Smoke Dampers:NFPA 80 chapter 19.4.4 states the test frequency of fire dampers shall be every 4 years. Due to the life safety nature of the fusible link portion of this damper we recommend replacement at this time and destruction of the replaced link.
