Navigating Winter Hazards: The importance of Hi-Viz Winter Workwear

Navigating Winter Hazards: The importance of Hi-Viz Winter Workwear

The winter months are fast approaching and with that comes adverse weather, colder temperatures, and reduced daylight hours. All of which increase the risks of incidents to those working outdoors. While the exposure to cold can be dangerous and lead to health issues such as frostbite and hypothermia, the harsh conditions and reduced light cause lower visibility. Thus, outdoor workers face a dual challenge this time of year; keeping warm and staying safe.

The solution to this dilemma comes in the form of hi-visibility winter workwear and accessories. This type of gear is specifically designed to offer protection against both the cold, (or bitter cold, depending on where you are!) while increasing visibility while your workers are on the job.

As a National Distributor, we understand that your part of the country may be faced with different weather conditions to those of your colleagues, or others in the same industry. That’s why we offer a wide variety of options. From Fleece jackets to 6-in-1 Parkas, and everything in between, we have you covered. We also understand that each job has its own level of requirements when it comes to visibility, thus we also have multiple choices when it comes to the types of garments (such as coveralls, overalls and parkas), the color of the fabric ( Navy, Bright Orange or Bright Yellow), and the thickness and placement of theretro reflective striping.

With so many options available, there are many factors to take into consideration when choosing winter workwear for your employees. The temperature, work environment, level of activity, and the type of tasks to be completed will help dictate the type of workwear, as well as the levels of visibility needed in order to comply with safety regulations.

Finally, while being visible and bundling up against the cold are important aspects in choosing the right gear, we recognize that offering comfort and dexterity also play a role in ensuring your employees are able to focus on the task at hand. We recommend viewing the list of attributes listed in the description of each piece of clothing to ensure all your specific needs are covered.
