Winter Safety Checklist: Stay Warm, Dry & Visible
Posted by Safety Supplies Canada on 6th Oct 2025
Cold stress, slips, and low visibility are the top hazards in winter operations. Reduce risk with a simple pre shift checklist:
- Dress in layers: base (moisture wicking), mid (insulation), shell (waterproof).
- Protect extremities: insulated gloves, socks, and a hat under the hood.
- Visibility: choose hi viz parkas with reflective tapes for dawn/dusk work.
- Traction: winter rated boots and traction aids on ice.
- Breaks & hydration: warm up regularly; dehydration increases fatigue.
